Bread Stix

Recipe from Janalee Shirk

These are also quick and go well with the Lasagna!
Makes about 2 dozen sticks

2 Tbsp sugar
1 ½ cups of warm water}- dissolve sugar in water then
add 1 Tbsp yeast let sit until yeast looks dissolved
Add :
1 ½ tsp. salt
3 cups of flour (if dough is still really sticky add some more flour.)
Mix and knead for about 3 minutes. Set on floured surface and let rest for 10 minutes. Roll out ¼ inch thick and cut into about ½ inch strips.
Melt ½ cup of butter

Brush strips with butter and add topping

Parmesan Cheese
Garlic Salt
Garlic and Herb mix from McCormick
Cinnamon and Sugar (dip in cream cheese frosting or caramel)

Let raise 15-30 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until brown.

Crockpot Lasagna

Very easy and oh so good!
4 ½ hours / 15 min prep time / Serves 4-6

1 lb ground beef
1 tsp onion powder
2 garlic cloves crushed
1 (28 oz) can of Spaghetti Sauce (I like Hunt’s)
1 (15 oz) can regular Tomato Sauce
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 teaspoon dried Oregano (rubbed in your hand)
12 oz cottage cheese
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
12 oz lasagna noodles, uncooked
16 oz of shredded Mozzarella Cheese (you can also use Colby Jack)

1. Brown ground beef, onion powder, and garlic in pan.
2. Add Spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, salt, and oregano.
3. Cook just long enough to heat sauce.
4. Spoon layer of meat sauce onto bottom of crock pot.
5. Add uncooked noodles (break to fit) and top with different cheeses.
6. Repeat sauce, noodles, and cheese until meat sauce is used up.
7. Cover and cook on low for 4 – 4 ½ hours.
DO NOT cook longer than 4 ½ hours or it will go mushy!?
